Pliny the Lounger
Inspired by the ubiquitous “motel” chair from the 1940’s, Pliny the Lounger is a timely update on this classic. Designed and manufactured by Loll Designs with Sielaff Corporation using sustainable materials, a stainless steel frame is married to Loll’s 100% recycled and recyclable high-density polyethylene. Pliny features an elegantly mandrel bent 1” tubular stainless steel frame with poly seat and back. The welded tube frame has no open ends and is a one- piece construction that will last a lifetime. The Pliny has that classic “bounce” feel that brings the seated back to a moment in their familiar past, but the chairs’ new roots are clearly in the present. The accompanies the chair and can double as a side table or stool.
The Pliny is the recipient of a Good Design Award as awarded by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.
